Shopify Migration

Your content is an asset. Move it like one.

WordPress sites often carry years of blog posts, guides and landing pages that drive most of the organic traffic. Moving the store to Shopify is the easy half. Moving the content without breaking internal links, images and rankings is where migrations go wrong.

I migrate products and content together, rebuild internal links, and redirect every old URL, including /category/ and date-based blog paths. If the WordPress side runs WooCommerce, see WooCommerce to Shopify migration; for ongoing growth, Shopify SEO.

What you get

Store and content, moved together

  • Blog migration — posts, authors, categories, tags and featured images moved into Shopify blogs with formatting intact.
  • Internal link rewrite — links inside your content updated to the new URLs, so readers and crawlers never hit a redirect chain.
  • Landing page rebuild — high-traffic WordPress pages rebuilt as Shopify templates that keep their rankings.
  • Permalink redirects — date, category and custom permalink structures mapped to clean Shopify URLs with 301s.
  • Media handling — images moved and re-linked, with alt text kept and file sizes cut for speed.
  • Schema & metadata — titles, descriptions and structured data carried over or improved on the new templates.
How it works

From first call to launch

  1. Migration audit

A free call and a read-only audit of your current store: catalog, customers, orders, URLs, apps and integrations.

  2. Mapping & redirect plan

Every product, collection, page and URL mapped, with a 301 plan that keeps your rankings intact.

  3. Staging rehearsal

The full migration runs on a staging store first, checked line by line before anything goes live.

  4. Cutover & 30-day watch

A planned cutover window, then 30 days of monitoring rankings, orders and tracking so nothing slips.

FAQ

Questions, answered

Can Shopify handle a big blog?
Yes, for most brands. For very large content libraries I look at a headless or subfolder setup, and I will tell you if that is the better option.
What happens to WordPress plugins?
Each one is reviewed and replaced with a Shopify app, a native feature or custom code, and the ones you no longer need are dropped.
Will my blog URLs change?
Shopify uses /blogs/ in its URLs, so they do change, but every old URL is redirected so rankings and backlinks carry over.
How much does it cost?
Project work is fixed-price against a defined scope, so you know the full cost before we start. The discovery call is always free.
How fast can you start?
Discovery calls happen within days; kickoff is usually 1-2 weeks out. If you have a hard launch date, say so on the first call and I will tell you plainly if it is achievable.
